Congratulations are in order! The Steakhouse at Flying Horse is incredibly pleased to have received a 2018 Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator.
Wine Spectator’s 2018 Restaurant Awards represent impressive wine lists that represent all 50 states and more than 75 countries. To qualify for an award, a wine list must present complete, accurate information, including vintages and appellations for all selections. Complete producer names and correct spellings are mandatory, and the overall presentation of the list is also taken into consideration. Lists that meet the criteria are then judged in one of three award categories: Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence, and the Grand Award. The award criteria is largely based on wine lists, which typically offer at least 90 selections, feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. Whether compact or extensive, focused or diverse, these lists deliver sufficient choice to satisfy discerning wine lovers.
The credibility that comes with being recognized by a high-quality publication such as Wine Spectator is quite the accomplishment for our relatively new restaurant. Only three restaurants in the Colorado Springs area were awarded this prestigious designation. The 2018 Award of Excellence indicates that The Steakhouse at Flying Horse is quickly becoming one of the region’s leaders for premium wine lists.
The Steakhouse is located in Flying Horse at 1880 Weiskopf Point, Colorado Springs, CO 80921. Read the full article and view all awards on Wine Spectator Magazine’s website by clicking here.
