The Steakhouse at Flying Horse Earns Wine Spectator Restaurant Award in 2020

Colorado Springs, CO – July 2020) — The Steakhouse at Flying Horse has been honored for its outstanding wine program in Wine Spectator’s 2020 Restaurant Awards. The annual program, which recognizes restaurants around the world as the top destinations for wine lovers, successfully moved forward this year despite the effects of COVID-19.

About the Awards

“This year’s Wine Spectator Restaurant Award program celebrates restaurants’ resilience, dedication and bravery during these unprecedented times,” said Marvin R. Shanken, Editor and Publisher, Wine Spectator. “We hope that all of our award winners and the people who make them special will find their way through the crisis to once again welcome us through their doors. We look forward to raising a glass together, and to new beginnings.”

It is an incredible honor for The Steakhouse at Flying Horse to have earned the coveted Award of Excellence designation from Wine Spectator for the third consecutive year. Our team is delighted to be part of such an incredible group of restaurants who share the passion for curating delightful and memorable wine lists.” said Kevin Anderson, Food and Beverage Director.

Wine Spectator began its program to recognize the world’s best wine lists in 1981. There are three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award—with 2,289; 1,387; and 100 winners this year in each respective category.

The Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants whose wine lists feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.
